Built Through Experience—not Behind a Recruiting Desk
Precision Hire was founded by Sergio Rocha after more than 20 years of selling, recruiting, training, and leading teams across construction, equipment rental, temporary power, HVAC, and mission-critical services.
The company was built on a straightforward belief:
To recruit effectively for these industries, you need to understand the work, the customers, the jobsites, and the people responsible for delivering results.
From Brazil to the Construction Industry
Born in New York and raised in São Paulo and João Pessoa, Brazil, Sergio earned his degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of ParaÃba.
His first experience building a business came at 21, when he reopened a closed restaurant in João Pessoa. He operated the business for five years before selling it and returning to the United States in 2003 through an exchange program at Northern Illinois University.
That experience taught him early lessons about ownership, customer service, hiring, cash flow, and the responsibility that comes with building something of your own.

Our Vision
Our vision is to build Precision Hire into one of the most trusted recruiting partners serving mission-critical infrastructure across North America.
Growth matters, but not at the expense of our reputation.
We intend to earn that reputation one search, one candidate, and one successful hire at a time.
Starting at the Counter
In 2004, Sergio began his corporate career in Atlanta in counter sales at a Hilti Center.
It was an entry-level position serving contractors directly. He learned the products, listened to customers, and became familiar with the pressures contractors face in the field.
After two years in inside sales, he moved into outside sales focused on civil construction. For the next four years, he developed new markets, worked directly with contractors, and spent significant time on active jobsites.
That field experience became the foundation for how Sergio would later recruit, train, and lead sales professionals.
Learning How to Recruit Sales Talent
Hilti later invited Sergio to join its internal Talent Acquisition team in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
For two years, he was trained in a structured recruiting program developed specifically for direct construction sales. He recruited sales professionals across the Eastern United States and learned how to identify the behaviors behind successful performance—not simply the experience listed on a résumé.
This was where Sergio first connected his operating experience with recruiting.
He understood the role because he had performed it. He understood the managers because he had worked for them. He understood the candidates because he had carried the same expectations and pressure.
Leading Growth in New York
Sergio was then promoted to Regional Sales Manager in New York.
He initially led eight sales representatives responsible for approximately $9 million in annual revenue. Over the following four and a half years, the team grew to 10 representatives and approximately $19 million in revenue.
His responsibility extended beyond hitting a number. He recruited, trained, coached, and developed people while building accountability across a demanding and competitive market.
That experience reinforced a lesson that still shapes Precision Hire today:
The right person can strengthen an entire team. The wrong person can consume a manager’s time, reduce performance, and slow the business down.
Power, HVAC, and Mission-Critical Operations
After more than a decade with Hilti, Sergio joined Aggreko to lead sales across Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean.
This introduced him to a different operating environment: temporary power, climate control, emergency response, industrial projects, utilities, healthcare facilities, and other applications where reliability is critical.
During his six years with Aggreko, the operation grew from four sales representatives and approximately $8 million in annual revenue to six representatives and approximately $31 million.
The work required much more than selling equipment. It required understanding customer operations, coordinating with technical and field teams, responding to emergencies, and helping customers maintain continuity under difficult conditions.
Why Precision Hire Was Founded
Across his career, Sergio completed more than 2,000 jobsite visits and approximately 1,700 field ride-alongs, training sessions, and coaching interactions with sales professionals.
He interviewed, hired, trained, and led people responsible for developing customers, supporting field operations, and delivering results in demanding environments.
Precision Hire was founded to bring that operating experience into recruiting.
We do not claim that a résumé can predict performance. It cannot.
We look at how someone built a territory, earned customer trust, responded to adversity, learned technical products, worked with operations, led others, and delivered measurable results.
We also examine the working environment surrounding the position:
- What does the hiring manager genuinely need?
- How will performance be measured?
- What kind of customer will this person support?
- What leadership style will help them succeed?
- Why is the position open?
- What would make a strong employee leave after six months?
- What would make the opportunity worth pursuing for the right candidate?
Those questions help us move beyond qualifications and determine whether the opportunity makes sense for both sides.

What Makes Precision Hire Different
Precision Hire combines recruiting discipline with firsthand operating experience.
Sergio has carried a sales quota, opened markets, visited jobsites, recruited sales professionals, coached underperformers, developed top producers, managed revenue, and led teams through growth.
That experience does not guarantee every hire will succeed. No responsible recruiter should make that promise.
It does allow us to ask better questions, recognize stronger evidence, challenge assumptions, and give clients and candidates an honest assessment before a decision is made.
The testimonials shared throughout this website reflect that approach: direct communication, practical industry knowledge, and a genuine investment in the people involved.
